About
The Digital Equity Program, run by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, promotes digital equity and inclusion by ensuring all Americans have the skills, technology, and capacity they need to reap the full benefits of our digital economy. The program is particularly focused on rural communities. However, the first step in accessing this funding is developing a plan.
Through the Navigator Program’s work, 147 Alaska tribes and Native corporations submitted ‘Letters of Intent’ to join AFN’s consortium application for this program, and many others found ways to participate on their own and through other organizations. This effort will lead to the deployment of more than $5 million in digital equity funds that AFN will continue to coordinate.
