Averie is the Navigator for the Northwest Arctic region. She is based out of Anchorage.
Averie is enrolled with the Metlakatla Indian Community. She was attending the University of Colorado – Boulder, but came home to help her mom with her younger siblings during the pandemic. She now plans to finish her undergraduate degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she is currently enrolled. Averie also secured a highly competitive First Alaskans Institute Public Policy fellowship and was placed in Representative Tiffany Zulkosky’s (D-Bethel) office.
Her family ties to Bethel, Kotzebue, and Metlakatla, as well as her Yup’ik-Iñupiaq-Tsimshian heritage, makes Averie an ideal Navigator for the Northwest Arctic.
